We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank

you're right that isaac brock is no morrisey. he's way way way better. and i too, am pleased to hear johnny marr on this record. (as i mentioned way back in august.) i always liked the smiths' music; i just can't listened to it because of that wretched caterwauling.

i'm happy for modest mouse. i confess i haven't been a fan since their indie days, but they're one of few bands that made that leap to semi-mainstream success without a whole lot of compromises. (as are your flaming lips - another favorite.) oh, to be a fly on the wall at K records in the early to mid-nineties, when both modest mouse and built to spill were on the label....
Sorry dude. Like I said, news travels slowly. I had a lot going on in August. I do feel lame for picking up on this a full 6 months after the fact, but I still probably wouldn't have appreciated the magnitude before hearing the product for myself.

Indeed I miss the hay day of K. I'd go back in time to relive the early 90's all over again if only to see more shows. I definitely regret not going to CMJ back then.
ah, i'm just razzin' ya. this is good stuff though. i dig the tune too.

Thanks for sharing. I too am psyched beyond belief that Marr has joined up with Modest Mouse.
